The Celentano Sentinel, the first student-run, city-wide New Haven newspaper hits newsstands today! Part of the New Haven Student Journalism Project, Coop Arts High School students Zanira Abubakar, Amanda Aponte, Ervin Simmons, Taisha Lopez, Nikita Chebro, Jessica Hughes, Imani Manick-Highsmith, and Amber Fuquharson spent the semester mentoring Celentano Museum School students, grades K-8, through the brainstorming, interviewing, writing, and editing process. The product is a beautiful, professionally-designed publication with stories ranging from economic analysis, reflections on sports teams, opinions on school uniforms, and advice from student peers. Thank you to all the New Haven community members who supported the paper!
